rear 6x9's sounding crappy

What is the best thing to do with the rear 6x9 enclouser so that the speakers can HANDLE more bass and not distort? Its not so much that i want more bass, its jsut that it seems my rear speakers distort way to much when playing rock or alternative music, more so then playing something with deep bass. I have a good pair of infinities back there. Any help woud be appreciated..

They sound cappy because they are only gettin 19 watts rms each so you have to turn the volume up higher to hear the music well, if you give them about 100 watts rms or even 75 or 50rms, they will sound 20x better. Off of an amp with crossovers the sound will be much clearer.
