6x9 Conversion
Ok, I don't know if everyone is familiar of the STUPIDEST GM IDEA EVER!! In my Trans Am in the rear panels I have a 4x6 Plate and a i think 4-5" woofer on each side .. Anyone have this stupid option?? Did anyone change to 6x9's .. if so can u post pics and tell me how?

The stock 6x9s dont actually screw into the pillar. They screw into a metal plate, and the plate screws into the piller. Never done this change, but you can goto a junk yard and pull out the metal 6x9 plate thats in the back. Held on by 4 hex screws. I would think that the plate would screw right into where the box was, then you just screw 6x9s into the plate.

ahhhh .. you have the 'expensive' stereo option. I have two cars with that in it. One of them, by the time I got it, had the 'box' removed from the side panels and had a plastic plate that mounted in its place with a 6x9 hole in it. I have since replaced with a custom built masonite panel for my 6.5" components.
