well i just got back from the stereo comp..i thought(along with others) that i was gonna hit over 141db, but to my amazement i only 134.2db..i was like hmm whats ging on here?? looks like i have to go back to the drawing board!! i think that the way the microphone was facing may have had alot to do with it but oh well..looks like i have to go RIGHT BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD...which isnt that bad i guess but oh well..

what meter was it? Some are really stingy. Either way, good score, now its just time for even more tuning.

my team did a 147.1 a few weeks ago on a audio control meter with two hx2 12's and one bd500.1. If you want to compete for spl, then you should look into porting your enclosure, vents are the way to go

Car: 85 IROC-Z / 88 GTA
Engine: 403 LSx (Pending) / 355 Tuned Port
Transmission: T56 Magnum (Pending) / T5
Axle/Gears: 3.42 / ?
I hit 141.1 a couple years ago with the mic located according to IASCA specs. I'm extremely proud of that score because the car was never intended for SPL, and I made no changes for the dBDrag. I played the tunes on the way over, entered the dB drag and played the tunes the whole way home. I didn't even adjust the gain or anything. The system is 2 Oz Audio 300L subs (sound quality oriented subs) powered by a Kicker ZR600. 15 seconds into it I popped my 100 amp breaker. If I'd known about "burping" at the time, and if I optimized the system for SPL, I think 145 would have been easily attainable. Now that I have a little more available income, and I'm itching for newer, better sounding subs anyway, I may give it another go if the car ever gets put together.

they are 3 10 inch...and no i put them in myself, but b4 the comp like just before i hit i messed around with the l&r gains..and i think that hurt me..cuz i just went to the shop(where i get sponsored) and did a test trial..i hit 141.1 with the same music that i used for the comp..they asked me why was/is there such a difference, i told them and they laughed..they told me about the next one but i cant go...no money avail..

oh well there is always next year!!
