Give me a $100 deposit, and about a month to get it finished. The final price will be set at $150 unfinished plus shipping. That price is for the depositor only. After I have a mold and start making them, the price might change. Are you in?

the exposed magnet, over the gas tank isn't my kind of thing. My camaro has the "privacy shield" thingy that goes over the back compartment and i want to keep it.
I am also in if you can come up with a stealth box. It sounds like it should meet this criteria:
(1) retain spare tire
(2) do not extend past the little ledge (IE retain the well)
(3) within these limitations, the biggest enclosure possible
(4) look somewhat stealth.
Considering this is a stealth enclosure, I think a compromise in sub size is acceptable. Obviously a 15 won't fit. A 12 would be nice but a 10 (to me) is perfectly acceptable. I just want decent in car performance. If I wanted 150db I'd get one of your MDF well boxes
one other question. how much volume would be in a half-well enclosure? something that doesn't come up to the level of the fuel tanke cover, but isntead only to the level of the sides of the well (the two ledges)...

I think the half well volume is somewhere around 1.13 cu.ft. total.
The stealth box I'm going to build for Z28Racer should meet those criteria. If you'd like to join in on the depositor list, that would be fine. Just to make it fair I'll except additions to the list for the next 24 hours. At that point, the people who have made deposits have first priority, and a set price. Everyone else interested in a stealth box will have to wait and see what happens. Fair enough?

I would need to see a drawing or some kind of concept (even if it's just a bunch of foam chunks taped together in a general shape) before plunking down the $$.
I have no doubt the end result will be quality (your MDF well boxes are AWESOME!) but i am extremely picky about my perception of stealth, and would be nervous to plunk down $100 on something i may not like purely because of aesthetic taste. It's kind of like wheels...my favorite may not even be in the next guys' taste.

That's cool, I understand the nervousness. I won't have a chance to even put together a bunch of foam blocks before a week or two. I have 3 MDF boxes and a set of kicks on my plate right now. I don't know which side yet. The goals are basically what you said earlier. I'm going to try and keep the whole thing inside the factory panels and completely unnoticeable. I want airspace to be at least up to 1 cu.ft. Anyone who leaves a deposit will have design influence. I only expect to have 1 or 2 depositors, so it shouldn't be too much of an arguing match. The price will likely go up after I get an idea of material cost and time.

Did you mean to imply that you are going to try for a 1cuft enclosure, completely contained within the factory paneling, while still retaining the spare tire or lockbox, depending on which side you put it on?

hey now! I use my lockbox.
rezn8r if you are going to build a 1cuft 'glass enclosure that fits within the factory panels on the spare tire side, while retaining the spare tire, count me in. where should I send a deposit? Am i still within the 24 hours?
Ideally i'd like to run a JL 10". The new W6v2 looks nice, or a W3v2 or even W1 if mounting depth is a problem.
let me know.

Yeah, the 24 hours ends around 3:30. E-mail me for a payment address. A W6v2 is probably too deep, but a W3v2 might work, if nothing else I know a W0 would work. Anyway, if there's some reason I can't fit it where you'd like it, I have no problem refunding the deposit.

The deadline has been reached. As expected, I only have 2 people to please. Of course I'll keep everyone posted on progress. Thanks to 91L98Z28, and Z28Racer for making it possible!

First, if this goes well would you consider making one for a well without a spare tire? (I have a posi diff with a non-posi spare and AAA, no need to even have the spare in there.) If the answer to the first question is no, will your planned box require a specific spare tire to be in the well in order to be supported or held in place?
Thanks. I am defeinitely still interested in adding one (or two if a driver's side ever comes out) of these.

I was planning on the box being in front of the regular spare tire, so you could either have the regular one in, or none at all and it would work. Obviously the first box I make will be that one. If that does go well, the next would probably be a driver's side version, and then possibly a non-spare pass. side version for more airspace and a bigger sub.

Not yet, I have to get my other orders out before I start the stealth box design stage. It'll probably be a week or so before I can really spend some time on it.

Hey, I'm sorry if this may sound kinda rude, but I was wondering if you already had the plans drawn up for my box before I regretedly had to cancel my order. If you did, can I get them? The school offers to pay for one project in woodshop as long as it isn't over $30. I figured that it wouldn't cost over $30, and I have nothing else I want built out of wood. Once again I'm sorry if this sounds like a rude request since I canceled and now want to build it myself.

hey REZ, just figured i'd throw you another option for people who only want one sub. i built this box last summer and it fits the bottom half of the wll quite nicely. also allows around 1 cu ft inside and i remember there was some unused space that could possibly be used. maybe bring ya in a few more potential customers and bucks .

I'm still trying to get the other orders out before I get real in depth on the stealth boxes. I've got one MDF box, and 3 sets of kicks left before I can concentrate on the stealths. I looked at it a little bit. replacing the whole spare tire cover panel might be the only way to fit a sub and keep the spare. I'm still going to check it out more though.

hey Rez, can you design a 2-10" box that fits in the lower part of the well? i had one but i think yours would make my new subs sound much better. I think with your experience you can put angles on it and make it an even, clean fit. I believe you said there was 1.13 cu ft there? and that's fine for 2 Alpine Type-R (4ohm+4ohm)s, their sealed box rating is .50-.80 cu ft. each. Would there be a need for a half way divider in it? Thanks!

The only benefit I have heard of with a center divider is if one sub goes out, you still have bass. Or if the subs are getting mismatched wattage or signals for some reason. It's not really needed for structural bracing in a box like that. I could easily design and build one like you're talking about. Just send me an E-mail and I'll give you a price quote. I can't actually take the order for about a month though.
Anths:
The spare tire-less stealth box has been tossed around, but my depositors want to keep theirs, so I'm going to build the first version to keep the spare. After that there may be one made to fit without the spare.

I have just installed the sub box made for me by REZN8R. This box is awesome and bass from those 2 Infinity subs is unbelievable. Definitely do business with this guy. I am extremely impressed with his work.

Probably similar to Mrbboy's box, all the way to the bottom of the well. The cost would be $140 plus shipping.
