the only luck ive had with my car
well, today my friends and i put in my stereo in my car. i got my car (88 TA) last summer off of a friend of my dad. it sat in his garage for about 6 years and hadnt been touched. the car has had so many bad things happen to it, like the oil not draining back to the sump because of clogged holes, the tranny mount splitting down the middle, and my car getting side swiped while i was in school the third day i owned it. but we installed the stereo today and its the first thing that HAS gone right . and to make things better, it cost me 30 dollars. the amp i got from my dad for free, its a phoenix gold mps 2240. the sub i got from a friend along with the power line w/ fuse for 20 dollars. its a rockford fosgate 12". we built and sealed the box out of things that i already had also. the other 10 was for a clamp for my battery and a very cheap rca. its not the bes but im very pleased and ill post pics tomorrow i believe.

Congrats on getting one of the best cheater amps ever built!!! Those 2240's are little beasts, but you need a few more subs to REALLY get some power out of it. I had a 2240 running two 4 Ohm 18" subs at 2 Ohms mono... The measurements we took off of the outputs was 430 watts from a rated 22 watt per channel amp!!! :hail: If you want something to run one sub, you might want to sell that one and get a higher power one at 4 Ohms because that little amp only wakes up once it's really loaded up with more speakers... By the way... Make sure you sell it to me!!!
