if i made a custom hatch box and used 1 (alpine or something)12 in sub and bought 2 6.5 component sets and mounted the sub in the middle and the component sets on each side all in the same sealed box. kind of like the bose system uses the window for the sound waves.

I have done that before, but you are going to want to seal the component speakers from the rest of the box. The pressure from your 12 will cause the smaller speakers to vibrate with them if their not sealed. This will cause distortion.
I have in the past made my own traingle shaped box with 1 12" one 15" two mids, and two hors.. it sounded great, after I sealed off the mids from the subs

i might do that then. im going to get a 5 channel amp and have a component set up in the kicks and the hatch next to the sub. then the 5th channel for the sub. i was thinking about getting some 4x6's in the dash and another component set in the sail pannels all off the head unit. i think that would sound awsome.

When it comes to car audio, the simplest solution is usually the best. If you've got a good pair in the sail panels, you'll get no benefit to having another pair further back.
