Need Advice On Amp

Ive been looking into getting a sub for my system and have decided on a single alpine type-r sub. Now I need to decide on an amp to go with it. Price range is under or around $150. How would the JBL CS200.1 do? Also are Boss amps any good, specifically the Riot 850, they seem to be too cheap in price (which is almost never good) so i havent really looked into them too much.

Are you amping any other speakers? If so you would more then likely be disappointed. If your running them off of the deck then maybe.
Are you building a sealed box or a ported box. In a sealed box I would look for a bigger amp. Even in a ported (properly built) box I would think that I would want more, but that amp and a single type R would "fill out" the sound OKish if tuned right. It will not be loud though. Basically a case of, "Better then I had, but not quite where I wanted to be."
And Boss is junk...

The box would be sealed. The other speakers in the car are infinity references powered from a pioneer 4600mp HU. So what amp would you reccomend then. I am on a budget, and if 2 somewhat cheaper 12" subs would be better then the single type r, what would you reccomend?

I'm gonna throw this out there for you, and maybe get some opinions from others....

You can get a Lanzar Vibe 1200d for $130 before shipping from ebay.

I'm only going by what I've read on some internet forums, but the Vibe 1200d is supposed to be okay (while most of Lanzar's other lines apparently suck). Though older Vibe 1200d's sometimes had a problem that was fixed on newer versions. I've heard people recommend the Vibe 1800d to avoid the problem, but that of course costs more. Can't remember what the problem was though. And even though it's one of the "crappy" brands people tend to tell you to stay away from, it apparently does it's rated power, unlike others.

For just one Type-R, you'd need to keep the gains low, but you'd also have some room to improve if you wanted to add a second sub later on.

But again, I have no personal experience with this amp, just going by what I've read on the net, so take it with a grain of salt. For the price, it's something I'm tossing around trying out myself.

I say try to find a rockford fosgate 360a2 or like a kicker zr360 on ebay, they can be had for cheap. A friend of mine just picked up a good working kicker dx700 for like $150 on ebay, and that is a bad *** amp. I just purchased an alpine type r myself, and I will be building my box today and running it off of my rf 360a2, and Im sure that amp will have plenty enough power for it.
