""Premium Sound""
Ok guys im just getting into thye car audio department and i did search but what im looking for is a simple answer. I have premium sound in my 86 T/a. Ya know the one with 4x6 and 5.25 in the sails. Is this good or should i switch over to 6x9's with the plates i have from a parts car? I do plan on adding 2 subs later but i wanna know if sticking with my 2 small is just as good as one large or should I switch. Sorry if i sound uneduacated but i am uneducated in this field....
Any help would be appreciated

If you can mount aftermarket 5.25 and 4-6 in the back I say do it. But alot of ppl just have some kickpanels up front with a good component set in em and leave the rear empty. Unless you keep alot of passengers back there.(which is kinda unlikely in a camaro.) you dont need rear fill all that much and with the money u save from buying 2 sets of speakers + little more u can buy a decent set of speakers/amp for the front.
Look around the board theres a wealth of info.

if you like the way it sounds leave it, I put 6x9's in my sails where there was nothing, as well as 4x6's in the front where there was also nothing and it sounds pretty good. But Camaros were built more for performance than stereo quality so it is easy to over do it. I'd say go to a local car stero store (Circuit City, Best Buy) and listen to some of the setups they have there to find out what you think is the best, that's what I did. But I think the bottom line is if you like the way they sound right now, leave 'em, if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Buy a new headunit and the subs - if you're happy, then leave the stock speakers.
To contradict myself, I will tell you that there are better options to those stock speakers, and you will be much happier with a set of components in custom kick panels up front. Just keep that little tidbit in the back of your mind
I certainly wouldn't buy low-end aftermarket and expect a big improvement over the stock.
