Yeah I was referring to the hardtop locations. The rears are located higher up in the sail panel. I don't have any experience with verts. Sorry.

I am a car audio guy, and someone else hit it on the head The Infinity's are the best speaker for the money on the market. Go to crutchfield to find the ones you want, but do not order from there. You can get them much cheaper elsewere.... Copy the discription from the CF page and then go to google.com click on the more tab and open Froogle paste the discription there and let it find the cheapest price for you. You will find them much cheaper that way......

So far, the front factory speakers are holding up great, but when I take the dash apart to be sure everything is in place and properly tightened, I'll head to the Shack again for a pair of similar 4X6's that match the 6X9's.
But then, I'm into fidelity, not boom-de-boom or public broadcast. So your needs may vary.

I am upgading my 91 RS vert sound system. I bought the JVC KD-HDR1 and some JBL Power Series 4 x 6 plates and 6 x 9's because Cardomain said they would fit....but no....The magnet depth of these speakers is too large. Any suggestions? I took apart the sail panel and found 6" rounds so I was looking at the 6 1/2 round JBL's and the GTo 4 x 6 ovals? Does anyone have experience With JBL's? I love the home speakers I have by them.
Also does anyone have experience with Kenwood KSC-SW1 or Clarion Phaze 1 SRV303 subs?
Thanks,
shades69x

A Kenwwod sub in the back. Sounds decent. Not super pounding but makes up for a lot of bass verts lack. Removable in seconds.
And for a headunit I went with a 1 1/2 DIN Pioneer (they have them in a perfect matching black now). Nice big display and controls, no ugly installation kit needed, and fits flush (doesn't stick out).

Regarding verts, I had little problem putting a set Pioneer 6 1/2's in the back.

Wow...........that is a shame about MB Quart, used to buy those often. Excellent speakers, great sound and quality. Anyways, I have had good luck in my 91 RS with Alpine 6x9 ( type S) in the rear and Lightning Audio 4x6 in the front and a Bazooka tube in the trunk. It all in all sounds good espacially if you balance it all out right. I plan on adding a 4 channel amp for the 4 speakers ( its a performance tecknique...hey, it was free..lol ) and just leaving the internally amplified tube alone. I think that set up will sound even better. But all I have powering my 4 inner speakers is a JVC Mosfet powered deck and it is very crisp and clear with just enough bass from the tube.
