I have bose gold kick panels and real cargo cover. I jus't want to know what the best speakers would be for dash and sail panels locations. I could figure out what size it was but wouldn't know the right depth. So I figured it could hurt to ask.
I also run a LS1 cd player.

you know, if youre looking for good sounds and money isnt an issue why dont you yank that ls1 cd player, out in a good aftermarket one, run an amp to some kics and a sub. That would sound a lot better than good speakers in crappy places with an insufficient deck

I don't like aftermarket head units. Not many fit right and need kits to install them.
I also dont like seeing 2 woofers in the back window or taking up my trunk space.
I like everything appearing stock as well. I have the stock LS1 styled bose system in my corvette....sounds FINE... i dont like that excessive thump you guys get a kick out of. Not saying its dumb or something just not my thing.
I love the way a bose system sounds or any real clear system that just feels like your there when your listening. If the stock LS1 styled radio doesn't have enough kick I could always hide an amp somewhere.

I would do just that then. Get some nice 6X9s for the sail panels, and some nice 4X6s for the front. Run the fronts off of the deck, and the rears off of a nice amp.

What would be a good amp for the sail panel speakers and the rear cargo speakers? They are going to be the infinitys posted above. Where can I hind it? Think it would fit under one of the rear seats? I had them out yesterday and theres a nice space under there lol.

OKay well i was talking about the best stereo you could run in your camaro. It's kicks and subs. If you upgrade the speakers, the deck is not going to have enough to push the speakers. They'll sound good until you turn it up, then it will sound worse. I like sq over anything. I put all new alpine in my camaro with an alpine deck, sounded like crap. I then got a an amp and they cam alive, no sub. Im sure you could do it with the ls1 deck but if you really want it to sound good, you'll need to get an amp.

true but a 4 ch amp have two power gains so if he get a 100 rms x4 he just turn down the front gain for the front speakers
theres nothing wrong with a 4x6 these speaker are good for producing great highs
----------
i would also suggest this one also and u need a amp wiring kit

Your music is still going to be missing a lot of detail without subs. The 6x9s just aren't capable of hitting those really low notes that a subwoofer can.
In any case, I really like the sound of Boston Acoustics speakers... although I don't know if they make 6x9s/4x6s.

Late to the party I see. I never liked my Reference's. Not in my girlfriend's Cavalier, not in my Iroc, and not in my MR2. I got Kappas and never looked back. SO much crisper on the highs. And yes, an amp is a must. A decent 30-40w RMS a channel amp is perfect.

Ran the Infinitis, they were good, but not impressive.
MB Quartz destroy them in my opinion.
Run their 6*9 and 4*6 in my Formula.
When I did the GTA, MB Quartz was not making 4*6 at the time anymore :-(
Almost made me cry.
Speaking of which, finally installed the MB Quartz in the GTA this week, Eclipse in the frt :-( (ok so far we will see). I think I have had them for almost 3 years gathering dust on the shelf?

MB Quart used to be good... few years back. They were made in Germany... but now the company was bought out by a Chinese company and the quality has shot straight down!

Your kidding?
That sucks.
Everything I won from them is from the German years.
Such a shame, definitely the cleanest clearest sound for the money in my opionion.
Well, least I know that in the future.

Bose needs to pick up the pace. Their speakers all suck now... people just buy them because they think Bose is great. Guess I'd make crap and sell it for tons too if I could get away with it.

my 91 vert
I am upgading my 91 RS vert sound system. I bought the JVC KD-HDR1 and some JBL Power Series 4 x 6 plates and 6 x 9's because Cardomain said they would fit....but no....The magnet depth of these speakers is too large. Any suggestions? I took apart the sail panel and found 6" rounds so I was looking at the 6 1/2 round JBL's and the GTo 4 x 6 ovals? Does anyone have experience With JBL's? I love the home speakers I have by them.
Also does anyone have experience with Kenwood KSC-SW1 or Clarion Phaze 1 SRV303 subs?
Thanks,
shades69x

I loved my Infinity Kappas until my friend got a set of Polk MOMOs. Very nice sounding speakers. In the end it comes down to what you think sounds good, though.
As for fitment, pretty much any 6x9 will fit in the rear. With some 4x6s in the front you can run into mounting depth issues. You can get around this by using some sort of spacer (or a stack of washers or something) to raise the speaker up a little.

I got two Sony Xplod 6x9's off Ebay for $39 total, and thats with shipping and handling, they fit in the brackets perfectly, and sound good enough :P
