Re: sub question

Can you post a picture of the enclosure in your car so we can see what your dealing with? That would help. I have been running two 12" subs from an old Rockford Fosgate 150 amp bridged and they POUND!

Re: sub question

Dynamat Extreme your car man. That will get rid of those rattles. I just put some in my car and the stuff is kinda pricey but it's GOOD stuff.
Why in God's name would you need 4 15's in a Fbody? For the love of God Man, there isn't much that all those speakers could accomplish that two 12's that are properly tuned couldn't do. Plus it's going to weight a ton for the speakers and the enclosures for them. That will kill performance and mileage. Maybe your not worried about that part of it though.

LMAO!! It's usually a good idea to get rid of the rattles as opposed to playing music louder than them

You're worried about things sounding good, and you're going to stick four 15" subs in there?? I would be worried about hearing any sound with a setup like that. I guess the biggest question is, what are you planning to listen to, and how do you want it to sound?

Re: sub question

Since you sold the Tahoe are you now building in a Camaro/Firebird. I only ask because not everyone who posts here has one.
Building a wall in any vehicle is tricky. The wall has to fit tight and be sealed. There are a lot of possable leaks in an F-body. The hatch rubber is one. I recomend new rubber. Strip all interior parts and seal all holes with silicone. When building a wall the back half of the car becomes the enclosure. It's important that it doesn't leak. Dynamat will help too.
If you build a wall straight up behind the front seats then you might concider putting come plexiglass in it so you can still use the rearview mirror.
You could make the whole wall from plexi or lexan.
You'll also want to measure the interior behind the wall to find the volume of the area so you make sure that you have the correct volume for the 4 15"s.

Re: sub question

have you considered useing the 4 15s in a composite or compound enclosure witch will yeild a box size that is equivilant to 2 15s? that box will still fit in the rear of your car without a wall.

That would be a suggestion. Although - in all seriousness, if you liked the way 2 sounded in a Tahoe, I would stay with two. This car is a lot smaller, and has a shape that is great for sound. No standing waves in these things! Unless you're looking to show up the local bass bumpers, in which case - do what you have to do!
