Soundstream and Memphis Any Good?

I've been out of the car audio scene for a number of years.

I'm looking for a 5 channel amp, some front speakers (in the kick panels) and a 10" sub.

I was looking at the Soundstream 5 channel amp and sub. Also looking at Memphis.

2 channels for the front, 2 channels for the doors and 5th channel for the sub. Not looking for lots of boom, more for SQ.

How good are these brands these days?

I already have 2 sets of 6 1/2" JL's for the doors.

Looking at a sub with DVC.

Thanks

I know the Memphis name still carries many followers and is top notch equipment. You might pay a little more, but you know it's quality. Soundstream I'm still not to sure about. I've not personally heard any huge fans, but I've also never really heard anyone knock the name. You can't go wrong with either brand in my opinion.

Re: Soundstream and Memphis Any Good?

I can't complain about my Memphis set up in my 92 RS. I have the Memphis Belle 5 channel amp which puts 1100 watts RMS to the sub channel. That powers a single 12" Memphis MOJO sub. I have actually seen the ammeter I have connected to the amp display over 100 amps once or twice, at 13 -14 volts, that is at least 1300 watts max. I'm thinking about putting some Memphis equipment in my 89 RS when stereo upgrade time comes.

Another memphis fan here. I would recomend a more powerful charging system if you plan on running the larger belle.
