Sail panel subs and the rattling gas cap

So I just put some pioneer 10's in my sail panels and now the gas cap rattles like crazy.Pretty lame I thought there would be more problems with other parts of the car being noisy but noooo had to be the stupid gas cap.So my question is does anyone know of a good locking gas cap that stays on tight? Thanks.

Well at least you can thump your way down the raod if you run out of gas!!

We have whatever * AutoZone * sells on 1 of our other cars. Thing is with this one-- some times you turn the key left to unlock it, some times to the right

Re: Sail panel subs and the rattling gas cap

Try applying some sound deadener (ie Dynamat Extreme) behind the subs. It will reduce the vibration.

Simple fix.

I have peel n seal in it but I only did one layer, was thinking about doing another. Its just really annoying.I was also thinking about Spray foaming it a little more and re cutting it and fiber glassing to make it more rigid.Dont know if that would help though.

Re: Sail panel subs and the rattling gas cap

Peel N seel will help only a little bit. You're best bet if you are going to take the time to do it is to do it right. I either recommend Dynamat Extreme or Second Skin Damplifier Pro. Preferably the damplifier pro. But you need to do that whole area there well.. I have Rockford Power series 6x9s in my sail panels with about 80 watts going to each and a full layer of second skin pro, and it still rattles a little, i'm going to go through and do another layer.
