Re: AUX Input GTA Radio
Mine is the one shown in the thread below. Looks like it's a CDM module.

Re: AUX Input GTA Radio
Here is a link I found that has perfect step by step instructions with pictures. I just did this to mine and the jack at Radio Shack was $2.69 and the wire at Home Depot was $.99. Does not get any easier than this. I just got to find nice place to mount the jack as I did not want to put it in the front of the radio.

Re: AUX Input GTA Radio
I have a 1988 Pontiac Trans-Am GTA with the delco loc ii with steering wheel controls. I like the idea of having an auxiliary input for my radio. For the longest time I had the cheap fm transmitter, which finally broke. I did a little tinkering, to no avail, I couldn't figure out how to put in the aux. Then I tried a redirad, but the sound quality sucked. Now I ran across this post and I'm willing to try again. Can you give me a detailed process for doing this modification. I would greatly appreciate it. thanks in advance

Looking at the bottom of the main board, find these connection points.

Re: AUX Input GTA Radio
I'm just being cautious (b/c i've screwed up my radio before), by cutting the circuit, exactly what am I doing. I just want some more details before I start operating.

Re: AUX Input GTA Radio
I would rather do it myself. It's not that don't trust others to work on it, it's just that its simply gnawing at me. Also I don't really want to mail it out. Plus I have everything I need. Side note: The connections that I would "adjust" they would be for the LCH and RCH for the tape deck. Can I put a switch on it of a sort, if so where (which wire). I know it might not be necessary, but I think it would be cool.

Re: AUX Input GTA Radio
I actually completely forgot about this thread, and then today my itrip that I was using started conking out. Well anyway in a couple of days I am putting my car to sleep for the winter, so I can pull out the radio. Since I have other things to do to the car it sort of overwhelmed my desire to do the radio myself. lol So I would like to have the auxiliary cable done for me. And btw, I have the cable and the 3.5mm jack, so how much would you charge me for it (basically for the labor)?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: AUX Input GTA Radio
Do you need the whole radio, or can I just send the top portion, the part with the rf in and power,ground,illum,etc./speaker wire connector in (The part that detaches from the rest of the radio). I am concerned with weight, its significantly lighter than the whole radio, or do you need the whole radio? BTW, I would to do cable option.

Re: AUX Input GTA Radio
Old thread resurrection.
Have a GTA deck (the one with the Delco-loc and steering controls).
I would like to install an AUX in however I live in Malta -EU and it is far too risky to send it to someone in the USA to do the conversion for me.
I am quite capable with soldering and electronics. Would some good soul provide me with some instructions as every link I found is broken or refers to the dual board radios.
Can these be equipped with RCA outputs for low signal to amps?
