6.5" component speakers in Camaro dash
Here a a few photos of how I modified the original speaker mounts to accept 6.5" speakers. All the work was done with head torches two levels below ground! So sorry for the inside photos!

I don't have power coming out of my ignition wire to connect my stereo. I checked the fuse labeled "radio" it's good, I've even swapped in a different one in. What could it be? I have power at the "constant hot" wire all I need is ignition?

What exactly did you have to do? I don't have my dash open so I'm just comparing to ebay pictures. Looks like you cut out the middle of the stock mounts and then added a new sheet metal plate in between the sides?
How do they sound? How does it compare with kick panels? (if you have ever heard kick panel 6.5s)

They sound fantastic with loads of punch, amazingly! I cut a square piece of steel sheet a little bigger than the outside diameter of the speakers. Then I tack welded it into place in many points. Then I cut out the holes. Drilled the screw holes and mounted the speaker in the frame. There are many holes, gaps and spaces in behind the dash so I filled them with aerobic foam mat. Then I mounted the frames and speakers into place. I then used the same matting to cut out a too surround for the speakers. That way there is a seal between the speaker vine and the dash. The speakers are shallow fit so I didn't have to do any other work to make them for in the dash.

That looks real nice, I'm thinking about doing the same in my vert. How Deep is your speakers? I've got a set of Infinity reference 6510cs from my old car but I Think they are about 61mm Deep.
