1991 camaro amp/ sub questions

Hello I have a 1991 camaro that I'm working on, I'm going to give you the run down of the system I am hooking up and let me know if you think I'm doing anything wrong. Ok so first off its a 1991 camaro that I put an aftermarket radio in, the radio is a Sony explode head unit, it has two sets of RCA outs but only one seems to work, so I have RCA splitters out of one set of RCAs splitting it into two cables that run back to the trunk, in the trunk I have 3 subs, and two amps, in a custom box I made myself. Ok so for amplifiers I have a kicker zx350.4 4 channel amp that runs my 6x9s that are in the sail panels, and then I have a Lanzar mxa104 1600w (at 2 ohms) mono amplifier that I plan to run all three subs. For the subs I have one pioneere ts-w304r that is 300w rms and 1300w max (not sure on ohms) and then I have two soundstream pxw-12/2 subs that are 400w rms and 800w max at 2 ohms. I was just wondering if I could properly run all three subs off my Lanzar amplifier, the amp is 2 ohm stable. And my next question is, I have one power cable run, one remote wire, two sets of RCA's and two sets of ground wires. I was wondering if I needed 2 power wires, or two remote wires, or if I could just split them both. Please let me know if this system should sound good, and how to wire it all up, also the soundstream subs are dual voice coil subs, I have both sides of each sub wired to one set of speaker wires, (one set for each sub) is this ok? Thanks, any info is appreciated. Also will this drain my battery while I'm driving? It's a brand new heavy duty interstate battery?

Re: 1991 camaro amp/ sub questions

whoa, ok, lets break this down a bit...

Sony Xplode head unit with only one set of preouts working.
Kicker 4ch amp running 2 6x9s in the sail panels
Lanzar mono amp hooked up to 3 subs, of mixed brands
unknown power wire and ground wire

Ok, your questions are how to hook everything up properly and will it sound good? Without knowing your power and ground wire size I cant say if you need a second run of power wire or not. I can tell you that Lanzar amp will not put out 1600watts, no matter how you hook it up. I also strongly suggest changing out the head unit to one that has more than one set of working preamp outputs. It will give much cleaner sound if each amp has its own separate input.

As far as wiring up the subs... first get rid of the mismatched Pioneer. It is never a good idea to mix brands of subs, especially if they are sharing the same airspace in a box. Brand A will move at a slightly different speed than Brand B and the soundwaves will conflict and sound like crap.

Now how to hook up 2 dual voice coil 2 ohm subs. Keep in mind EACH voice coil is 2 ohms. If you connect + to + to + to + from the amp, each coil you connect cuts the ohms in half, so connecting both voice coils on one of those subs drops the load from 2 ohms to 1 ohm, connecting the another coil drops it to .5 ohms, adding the 4th coil drops it to .25 ohms.

But dont worry there is a way to wire up those 2 subs and get a 2 ohm load. Hard to explain in text, so heres a picture... http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchf...2-ohm_mono.jpg Doing it any other way will pretty much fry your amp in some way or another. If you add in that Pioneer, again your load will drop and your amp will fry.
