Anyone have the Avenger carb????
we were down at the auto part store yesterday looking for a 750 carb for the IROC. Well, the guy told us about the Holley 680 cfm Avenger carb. said it would be more suitable for the car then the 600 thats on it now. i was just wondering if anyone had this carb and how they liked it. it will be probably bolted to an Edelbrock RPM intake too.
so give me some thoughts on this carb and how the set up will work. also, if your looking to get a 600 carb, AOL IM me at N8Playa86

I'm running one and have no complaints Been running it for close to a year now. Btw, it's 670 not 680 cfm Out of the box the car will run but you do need to fine tune everything to get it perfect.

I'm confused about emissions, are there different combo's to get around it cause i thought the holley steet avenger was a non-emissions type carb, where i look for parts is http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/f...ain2.asp?cat=G
Its a great place, its all gen's but also you can find a bunch of 3rd gen **** too. Anyway, so can you put non-emission type parts on your car and still find a way to pass it??

I used the 770 on my motor last year. Excellent throttle response/mileage compared to my other 750 dbl pump.
Very good carb & easily tuneable IMO
Good choice for a hot daily driver.

770 Street Avenger : $379.95
750 Vac Sec, Elec Choke: $249.95
What 750 Lacks:
Clear Sight Plugs: $5.95
Quick Change Springs: $6.50
Spring Assortment : $7.75
Secondary Metering Block: $32.95
750 saves you 80 bucks. I wouldn't use the clear plugs, and most people won't bother with the sec metering block.
Its still a Holley and still good, just not worth the extra money.

x5finger said it best, the only thing is a metering block is a good idea for tuning your carb just right . Although a metering plate is not BAD!
