I believe if you run both pumps together you would be pumping 30+ psi. which will destroy your mech. pump. it happened to a friend of mine

This car did not have fuel injection, so Im thinking that I might not have any problems.

Im sorry when it sounded like a fuel inj. to carb swap. you should have no problem with the swap then. the new fuel pump and carb should work fine, i run the same fuel pump and it works great

If the car came equipped with a computer controlled q-jet, you should have no problems. Both carbs will have about the same fuel requirements. Do you have a pump in the tank? Some thirdgen carbed cars run an electric pump in the tank and a mechanical on the engine from the factory. It works just fine if thats the case.
