TBI/holley carb swap, some parts questions, please help
Just a couple questions...
From what i'm reading, variations of the holley carb came on alot of different engines from the factory. So does that mean I could go to the junkyard and possibly find a holly 600-650 CFM carb on a car and rebuild it? If so, does anyone know what cars had them, or how to find out?
Same kind of question for the vaccum distributor... Does anyone know what cars had them? And if i understand it right, when i set hte base timing on my TBI computer car, i had the distributor set at 0 * base timing, but with a vacuum advance i would want more towards 8-14 degrees base, correct?

A very few GM cars had Holleys in the 60's into the early 70's. The chance of finding one in the junkyard are next to nil.
Some cars that are junked have had a Holley put on them before being hauled to the boneyard. Slightly better chance of finding one of those.
Ford used variations later. Until about 1985.
You're better off finding something used that someone is selling.
Chevy used the HEI on a few 1974 model year vehicles, all of them by 1975. The use pretty much disappeared by the early 80's, with some trucks getting them as late as 1985. Small block and big block interchange.
