Given this part - "im looking for daily drivability but some good power as well" - I would say either the Holley or an Edelbrock would be a serious performance downgrade from the stock q-jet.

People, you need to understand that the factory carb is not what holds back performance on our 305 cars! Go the the FAQ forum and read the thread about differences between 305's and performance tips. The carb is the very last part to be changed out to gain more performance. And, by that time, you are way beyond streetability. Go to the tech article about getting the most out of your q-jet that is linked from the thirdgen.org homepage - that's all you need to make your CC q-jet the best street performance carb in the free world.

If you regularly race your car (and the class you race in allows it), there is a slight justification for changing out the stock q-jet. But, you can be sure the choice will not be an Edelbrock.

Check my sig. That is a rebuilt stock 1986 LG4 q-jet with secondary rod & hanger change-out. That's it.
