fuel pump mounting spot?

for carb'd apps, Where do you thing the best place to mount an "in-line" pump is at? Do you just cut the metal lines and set the pump up with rubber hoses as "adapters" between the pump and hard lines? Also, before or after the chassis fuel filter?

Re: fuel pump mounting spot?

If running carbd you should check your block where the mechanical fuel pump would normally mount. See if the block has provisions for it. If there is a blockoff plate bolted on, take it off and see if the hole is there for the pushrod. If there is no blockoff flate, just a cast boss, then forget it.

did you read the right thread?

elec. pumps usually like to push. mount it as close to the tank as possible.

flare the metal lines and use a compression fitting for the best seal. after the filter will keep that out of the pump.
