Carb Size??

Tried doing a search with no luck so...here it goes...I am trying to find a table or such that relates bore size of the main body to cfm...trying to figure out what size a friends AED Carb is and AED's website has been no help and the #'s on it are no where near any Holley #.

Thanks!

You probably aren't going to find anything, because it isn't a constant. Venturi, booster venturi, and throttle bore all affect flow, and it's the total effect of each that determines final flow, not just one factor.

Holley has a numerical listing in the tech section of their site that lists some of those dimensions for various carbs, but that still most likely won't give you exactly what you need.

Re: Carb Size??

Maybe this will help then..with the base plate off of the carb the bore at the bottom measures 1.625, carb has down leg boosters, I measured my 650 at 1.435 IIRC. From the information that I have been able to find it appears to be an 850, seeing as the 600-850 cfm all use the same base plate gasket and the bottom of the bore is as large as the gasket hole, where as the 650 has a noticeable chamfer at the bottom of the bore to "flare" out to match the gasket.

If anybody knows much about AED's please help me figure out the size of this carb.
