Yes and no. You can still use the canister to collect fumes from the tank, but the purge is controlled by the ECM, which no longer functions on your car.

Hmmm, I thought the purge is controlled by thermal vacuum switches.
But, you wouldn't have the fuel bowl vent function of the stock carb.
