i have a big quest. I am going from 89rs with 305tbi to 350vortec carb. and 700r4 and I have a TON of wires that I don't think that I am going to need. So how do i get rid of the excess wires? I know that can run all the wires for my gauges independant and as long as they have power they will work but

my wife for some sick reason wants to try to keep the AC so I cant just cut all of the wires in one swoop. plus I want to try to keep the tbi fuel pump if I could and add a fp regulator that way I ddont have to drop the tank. and not to mention the fp is NEW and so is the exhaust with the 2.5 in chrome tips. Although I guess it dont matter b/c i'm not going back with stock exhaust anyway I bought headers and trying to go with 3in y-pipe and tubing and no CAT all the way to the muffler and want a 3in inlet dual 3in outlet muffler. keep in mind that emissions on 95 and older ddoesnt mean anything in 27524 NC.

10-4 bro the little advice I can give will pale compared to what others will help you with. I think I would start by getting a wiring diagram.

Keep us updated, once you get a wiring diagram if you have not worked with one before study it for awhile and it should become clear as to what is what.

I'm in the process of tucking some wires in my engine bay right now. So far I've found it easiest to cut them back towards the firewall, cap off any hot wires and then use some electrical tape/small zipties to keep it together and somewhat neat. I've been hiding the bundles near the firewall in plastic wire protector that i'm running along the backside. So they're only near the firewall, just in case I ever need them again.

I should mention however that I got the car with a 350 sbc and a/c deleted for the most part.. and the wires i'm tucking away now were disconnected when i got her.
