91 tbi carb swap
Hello new to The forum. I have a 91 Camaro that is a huge project. Mice have eaten the wiring harness for most of the sensors for the TBI. I'm swapping to a carburetor and I'm looking for advice. At this point I just want to get it running I have the intake a carburetor and that's about it how much of the wiring can I remove and how should I do it? There are the sensors for the air pump that has been eliminated and the wiring for the map sensor and TBI have been destroyed. Let me know any questions or anything I need to clarify on. Excited to get it running and to get it so it's not super ugly lol

Ugly? I think it's beautiful! And awesome that you're resurrecting it! I've been thinking about getting a couple Vortec heads, ($150 for both locally) grabbing an aftermarket intake and carbing mine. I'd keep the TBI setup and still use the Vortec heads with an aftermarket intake, but have no idea how I'd program the computer. I am currently using a 350 from a 92 truck with the 350 injectors, so I want those heads gone. Will probably change to a roller cam as well. Right now, I'd be happy just to have a 350 chip.
You can cut out about all the electronic stuff, but will need to keep the temperature, oil pressure and ignition wiring. Back to the basics!
Other things you'll probably need to do if it's an automatic is to get a torque converter lockup kit or modify the transmission to do it without the kit, (Precision Transmission in Texas shows how to do that on YouTube) plus you may also need an adapter for the throttle valve cable.
Hope you post your progress!

The old rims
New rims
Just a little quick test with new paint.
Yes I need to look into what it's going to take for the transmission. But a little progress

Re: 91 tbi carb swap
This is an exciting project. I got my first ever third gen yesterday. A lovely 1992 Firebird and it's in the middle of a TBI to Carb swap. Very curious to see the updates and finished result!
