Car: 88 Iroc
Engine: 5.7 tpi
Transmission: 700R4
By mine give her yours

1988 IROC Z28 Camaro 5.7 Tuned Port Injection Engine 700R4
Transmission less than 13,000 miles on rebuilds 2.88 ANTI-SLIP Rear
Purchased car Sept. 03, had towed to house. $1,250 car $40 tow. Got running, found that trans
was bad, had trans rebuilt, head gasket started leaking. SEE BELOW.
Mods. Mostly I went back to original, {except 20 over bore to remove eggshape. Had block
checked, heads checked, by Bill Eason}, NEW:::::::::: pistons, rings, head bolts, bearings, push
rods, rocker arms, harmonic balancer from Eason’s $500. Billet pulleys, h o water pump, MSD
coil from Summit $300. High volume oil pump and spring, all new gaskets, exhaust pipe
(manifold to muffler) from O’Reilly’s $300. U-joints replaced $75. Tires $400, carpet J.C..
Whitney $85. Seats $200, shocks, hood shocks, back window shocks, struts, alignment,
stabilizer connectors front and back $300, New mass air flow thing $135, fan switch, tps,
distributor cap, rotor $100, etc. Had local builder torque all bearings and head bolts, and other
miscellaneous work (Heath Duncan) $250, I cleaned every engine part (priceless), checked and
reused original cam, checked and reused crank(had Polished) $100, transmission rebuilt, new
high stall torque converter by Bill Lynn in Searcy $795. Had Jeff Hughes take trans out, then put
back in $250. Changed rear end fluid, added additive $50. New front rotors and pads, new rear
calipers, pads and lines $300. I kept most all receipts, and old parts. Jan. 05 car died going
down road, mechanic of 35 years stopped to help, got it started, he said distributor module going
out, replaced module in distributor next day $100. Purchased 8.5 mm plug wires 2/04/05 $50
installed 2/10/05. Purchased new radiator $125 and oil pressure sending unit 2/12/05 installed
2/14/05. 4/12/05 Air Conditioner compressor started leaking, replaced compressor, clutch,
screen, dryer, retro fit to 134 $350. 7/15 RUNNING HORRIBLE took to local shop (GREG
BROWN), they installed new tps and distributor module. $375.00 Ran O.K. a couple hundred
miles. Purchased emergency brake cables 8/15. Purchased fuel pump and new fuel tank 8/15
$300, had both installed 8/17/05 $100. New muffler installed 8/18 $150. Ran great less than 100
miles. Contacted electronics specialist in Little Rock (Dino) told me several things that
needed to be checked, gave me name Buddy Arnold of Cabot. Took to Arnold’s Auto
Center Sept. 05. They installed emergency brake cables, new fan switches, Eckland sp?
distributor module, MSD spark control, they rebuilt front calipers, installed new master
cylinder, set timing, adjusted throttle body. $1,200.00 Took car to Talladega 7 hour trip,
Oct 05 no glitches, air condition/heater blower fan went out, purchased and installed new
in Alabama. Car is now dependable, starts every time. Runs good every time. Goes
good, stops good. GOOD. This car was a daily driver at first, now it sits for 3-10 days at a time.
November 2005. Notes to purchaser. Tach off quite a bit, temp gauge off 12 degrees
(when it reads 220, actually is 208), odometer does not function properly, cruise control
and windshield washer wires cut when I purchased car, fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge and
speedometer work perfect.
Car from factory: designed to have traction from start, with the 2.88 anti-slip rear, and
fuel efficiency on highway with the 700R4 trans. Testing in late 87, early 88 compared
the IROC against mustang, firebird, etc.; Iroc went 149 mph, stopped on dime with the 4
wheel discs. Personally, I have had the car to 110 m.p.h.. Most all of my labor (many
hours), and many small parts, Mobil 1 Oil changes every 3 months, and the fact that
I rented a shop for $275 a month during project is not listed above. Do the Math.
Over $9,000 invested.
Asking $5,000.00 4,000 cash down 100 amonth for 5 month

Again as stated TEXAS AREA your in arkansas. And for that price it should have wonderfull int and ext and i would say some decent mods also these cars go for next to nothing these days. I I would buy yours for her and keep mine as mine is a stout bastard and has the T56 6speed swap But your too far away and 5 grand is way too much for me for what you have to offer. 9 grand means nothing if there isn't anything to show for it people can spend 9 grand replacing normal wear and tear parts its the 9 grand in performance that actually makes it worth while to dumb some cash in. Just my opinion but you are way to far for me to even think of purchasing the car sorry. Also your down is nuts individual sale here not a down on an 06 at the dealer. But I understand.

I was just offering a good car for a good price

you folks are unbelievable, I offered him a good deal, I am sorry for not recognizing the mods, what is important to some are not important to others, I am pleased that the car starts and runs great every time I want it to, many will buy a car with great int, ext, then engine goes out on way home. Yes, I am living in Clinton country, but I am a Bush fan, have received a Christmas card from him last 2 years, you? I am a Christian, Prison minister, and Landscape Business owner, you? I was letting him know I would take $4,500. Key word, ASKING. Now then if I had 9 grand in mods, I would probalbly be asking 11 or 12

I wasn't stating just 9 grand in mods but a good part of it be in addon things not repairs you can't really value repairs unless its new drive terrain. I dunno where the what people do for a living and spare time came in here but I make 45k a year roughnecking so Money isn;t an issue again your located too far and it just doesnt seem feesable for me to spend that kind of money on yours when I can get the same thing here local for much less thats all I'm saying. There is a 92 local black on gray has 5.7 auto 4th gen interior dash also and some mods for 3k

Nope, no cards from the administration.

I'm just a deadbeat 7-11 counter person making 6.75 an hour, born again athiest who just got out of jail a few months ago.

I worship Al Gore and do lawn jobs in my pickup after knocking a few six packs back.

We don't have much in common, do we?

Lighten up, those who can smile at themselves live a happier life

I found that uncalled for myself.
Here you have a person professing to be a Christian as well as a Prison minister and in the same breath, which I wouldnt expect from a Christian...brag and boast about what he does for a living, apparently to splatter in our faces about how much $$$ he makes, but also send a subliminal message to everyone else by inputing "you?" as to refer to just what kinda job do you have and how much do you make.

Simply put, standing on his soapbox...."I own a business, and make alot of money and you dont"

and btw: so you get a christmas card from Bush...or should I say a "Happy Holidays" card...like the ones he sent this year. And HE calls himself a Christian?

I would say if the car has about 40K miles on it and is in mint condition, that isn't too bad. Somehow it doesn't sound like it.

I have an 87 Iroc Z 28 that I have spent 9000 in tow bills alone. Will sacrifice for 4999 and I'm only in New Jersey! Has 149k miles on a LB9 with a blown head gasket. RARE RPO H2O, Personal Ethelyne Glycol Passenger Foot Spa. Don't let this one get away!
