Scammer Alert

A guy saw my add for a 1987 Trans-AM on this board and sent me a check for 7K telling me he wanted it shipped over seas.

I said fine. Well, then he gave me all sorts of sob stories about his wife and all of that telling me that he had to send 1000 so his wife could get an operation. (Yeah right) I told him no money goes anywhere until the check clears. He also kept bugging me practically every day to send the $1000 to him Western Union and to send his shipper $4000 to ship the car overseas the the UK. I said NO, not until the check clears.

Not only did the check not clear, but the bank returned it to me stating that it was counterfeit. It was a fake check for a bank that exists up north somewhere.

The information I've got is this: brooklen ray <brooklen_ray@fastermail.com>

The return address on the envelope is fake. His emails consist of broken english and bizzar stories.

What tipped me off? Few to 0 questions about the car. Wanting to pay more than the car is worth to ship it to the UK. A big story about needing the car immediately for an emergency. If that was so he'd get something locally to drive around in. Not a car that needs work.

Next he had this sudden emergency and begged me to send him money Western Union. Gave me some story about negotiating cheaper shipping.

The shipping company didn't exist. It was some dudes house or something.

The broken english. It was worse than internet shorthand, it was also funny that a guy from the UK couldn't speak english. I know that what they call english differes from ours, but not to this degree. Heres an exerpt.

AGAIN DEN, I'M JUST SPOKE TO MY CLIENT NOW AND TELL HIM ABOUT WHAT YOU
SAID AND HE GIVE ME %100 ABOUT THE CHECK AND THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME
THAT I'M DEALING WITH HIM WHICH I BELIVED IT WILL NOT BE THE LAST TIME
THE REASON IS THAT IS THE RIGTH PERSON TO DEAL WITH BECAUSE IS FAITFULL
TO ME I'M TRY HIM IN SO MANY WAY AND HE HAS NEVER DISAPOINT ME ONCE SO I JUST
FINISED DISCUSE WITH HIM IMMIDIATELY I HEAR FROM YOUR LAST EMAIL.
DEN I KNOW THERE IS NOPROBLEM WITH THE CHECK.WITH ALL YOUR EFFORT T ME..I KNOW
THAT IT IS ONLY *** WHO CAN REWARD YOU WHICH I BELIVED HE WILL BLESS YOU
ABORDANTLY AND THE BLESSING OF THE LORD WILL PERMANET IN YOUR LIFE.
I HOPE WHEN I BACK TO STATE I MUST FIND YOUR LOCATION TO VISIT YOU I WILL GIVE
YOU A CALL WHEN IT IS TIME.I HOPE YOU GET THE BROWN ENVILOPE SEND BECAUSE WHEN I
SPOKE WITH MY CLIENT HE REMIND ABOUT IT.JUST GET BACK TO ME ASAP. <----This is retarded even by British standards.

If you get a overly zealous buyer that sounds like this and behaves like this beware. Or if you get a message from that above address. Never turn over your merchandise until the bank says the money is good.

I just thought I would alert you guys to this. He saw the add on thirdgen and he may be lurking around.
