has anyone here ever used the msd engine knock alert. How did it work? I was thinking of buying this and using it with my msd btm for my blower setup.

Are you a DIY type of person? (Like can follow an electric circuit diagram and assemble a simple circuit board?) If yes, then I might dig up the schematics for a simple knock indicator found either here or on diy-efi.org. Only if you're damn serious though (because there's serious digging involved).

Jza
I am also very interested in this "homemade" knock detector circuit if you manage to find it.
Thanks in advance

Ditto. I'm still interested as well in this knock detector circuit when/if you find it.

Interesting xpndbl3, I was just searching the boards to find if someone has built what you say you already have done. Do you mind filling me in on a few details on what components you used to make your AF gauge. Did you have to build a circuit board to translate your V readings from your O2 sensor into an output signal to a series of LEDs? This is all that I suspect is behind any of the aftermarket AF gauges.

Appreciate your input

Found it.

This uses your existing ESC module to take care of the filtering and simply interprets the signal to the ECM to alert you of knock. But because of this I don't think it'll work with 90-92 SD setups. Haven't played with it, though (yet). There's some bloatware in there too, but it's all good.

Enjoy.

Well for the homemade A/F ratio I used a standard IC chip LM3981....i "think" If you go to deadbird's website, he's a member of this board he has the diagrams on there.

www.deadbird.org there in there somewhere

I managed to find some info on the A/F meter but I will check out Deadbirds info as well. Thanks for the help!
