WATCH OUT FOR THIS GUY!! He ripped me off!!! He quoted me a price for an item and then almost doubled it AFTER I sent him money when he saw shipping to me was expensive. I offered for him to keep $10 for his trouble and give me a refund and he refused. I attempted several times to convince him but he now just ignores me. In the last couple of days, I started warning people on his posts. His response was to use foul language and insult me. Here's the exchange until the last few days. Look for his posts directed at me in the last couple of days to see what kind of person he is. I should post the PM's he's sent me in that time but neither the $62 or he are worth it. I know he's done good business in the past and probably will again but I HAD to warn people just in case. Here's the proof:

What method are you using? USPS freight should be not too bad.
usps, ups and fedex are all within $2-$3 difference

1 thing you are not supposed to charge a PayPal fee, it's in the TOS if people would ever read those things.

File a claim with PayPal and they will most likely refund you your money.

I agree with the File with Paypal. They can refund the $ from his account to yours, without him agreeing to.

I've screwed myself on selling without getting the true shipping quote. My fault = My problem. I now take the part in, have them physically weight it & give me a quote. No more at-home weighing or Online quotes. Just real, actual shipping quotes. My local USPS & UPS guys have gotten used to me walking in with stuff, only to get a shipping cost from them.

A person should man up & learn from their mistakes & ship you the part, or refund the $. Simple as that.

Thanks for all the support. I have to admit I messed up my Paypal claim by claiming it as an unauthorized use of the account. Then, I tried to refile but the system wouldn't let me. It's really no big deal about the money. I just don't want anyone else to be ripped off by this con man. I understand about not wanting to go to the post office for a quote, but the online USPS tool has never failed me when used correctly and, bottom line, if it's MY mistake, it's MY responsibility.

The Online quotes SUCK! As someone for ships stuff frequently, I can't tell you how many times I've been burned on going by the Online shipping quotes. That is why I now drive (12 miles, one way to UPS) to & get ACTUAL shipping quotes.

The onlything Paypal sucks about is say you buy a part and shipping is $50.00 and you get the item and its a POS. You file a claim and to get your money back you have to ship it back.. It doesnt cover return shipping. Got screwed on some heads that had "8300mi". More like 108300mi..lol

I just bought a guage pod from him, it was in very good condition. I paid using paypal and gift (that is the only and last time I EVER do that, it's not safe at all). As for the original topic, i think that a refund is due. It was a simple mistake and if the OP wasnt able to pay the rest just give em a refund and move on with your life, its the grown up thing to do. But as for in my case, I got exactly what I wanted and what I paid for.

Nobody should expect a package going to PR to be able be sent for the same price quote as the contiguous 48. As soon as the zip code was given he responded right back with a quote of $90. Now, if the OP sent $90 and later smallblockking came back wanting more, I would side more with the OP.

As it is, it looks like the OP was trying to take advantage of the seller.

smallblockking, refund the dang money. It's partially your fault for not being clearer on your shipping terms. Grow up and do the right thing

I appreciate your comments but I'm afraid you're partially mistaken. If you read carefully the details of our transaction, you'll see I sent him my zip code before he quoted the original price. It's not my fault he was not more careful when he got his shipping quote if he even got one. I think it should be evident by the way I have behaved and responded to all this guy's abuse that I'm a stand up citizen and would never try to take advantage of anyone like this. I have literally bought HUNDREDS of items off eBay and other sites and have NEVER had a problem. In some cases I have had to send extra money for mistakes made by the SELLER when they have misquoted their shipping. But never have I had someone double their price because of this. If you read this guy's feedback, you'd see there are others that have had issued with him. Again, I appreciate your comments but I take exception to your negative, unfounded remarks about me.

the only thing I would say you could/should have done differently is to flat out STATE the you are in puerto rico. Sometimes people see a 5 digit zip and it doens't connect with them that it's outside the regular US
