Trying to convert my 1988 to have 3 point rear seatbelts. So my daughter can use her booster in the car.

I have the retractors/belts, a tonoue cover from a 1991 that has the holes threaded. But what I don't have is the seatbelt loops that attach to the seat.

Are they a standard part?
How do they attach to the seat? Do I need to get newer seat tops?

Can anyone take good picture of these for me?

There are no loops for pre 92 verts, only the last year (92) received the floor mounted retractors which used the loops. Tonneau mounted belts didn't used them.Otherwise the tonneau wouldn't lift up when released.The belts would also be in the way if you wanted to lower the top. Ditto for front loops as well.

That said, i suppose you could still use them anyway.They bolt to the top edges of the Rr seat back.They have a slot to allow the belt to slip off, which yould have to do anytime you pop the tonneau/lower top/lower seatback. Try 4th gen loops, they look like the same part.

That makes sense. Especially given the location of the cover mounted retractor. Simplifies what I want to do.

The 89-91 Convertibles had a funky 2 piece seat belt system. The lap belt has an extra hole where the shoulder belt attaches to the lower belt. The Tonneau cover has the shoulder belt attached, so in order to put the top up or down you have to remove the hooks from the lap belt. A real pain... Also keep in mind that the tonneau cover also had a reinforcement pin in case of an accident.

92, from what I have seen is much better.

As part of the conversion process the ADR (Australian design rules) require Australian approved seatbelts. The US seatbelts are removed and Australian ones installed. The setup is effectively a reverse of the US setup in that the belt clip is where the retractor setup used to be and the new retractor mechanism is in the boot area where the top is stored. The shoulder strap enters the car over the seat from is from middle of the tonneau. It effectively buckles from the right to left when sitting in the seat. (A picture would be better I know, right!!)

I'll take some and post them if you're still looking for a different setup.

That is very interesting. Thank you for the pictures.

Im not worried about difficultly of operating the top. The car isn't used much and my daughter wont be in it often but when she is I want her as safe as possible.
