First timer thanking the long timers!

Just got my first Camaro two weeks ago, and would like to thank all you guys for the wealth of info. you share on this site. My plan is to do an upgrade/repair every weekend until she is better than new, so this seems like the place to hang out at after work.
I got off the freeway last week and the temp gage went up to about *245. After reading all of your threads on the subject, I decided to replace the stock *195 thermostat w/ a *180 stat. (Not a *160, too cold). Went out for a joy ride today, and NO problems! It ran at about *170, and when at a stop light it went up to about *190, and then stableized. With summer comeing, I wanted to take care of this ASAP.

THANKS GUYS!
