Ive had that problem before. In my experience these cars dont handle hot weather very well unless the cooling system is in top condition.Mine did this last year.I put a new thermostate in it,made sure both my electric fans were working when the a/c was on.I hot wired them to the fuse box to run all the time dureing the summer(this will cut down on the life of your fans).make sure your radiator isnt cloged or in need of being rebuilt or replaced. It should be clean if not start by flushing it.Take the plastic piece off the top of your radiator and clean out between the radiator and that a/c radiator thing.(mine was filthy with leaves and stuff even had a bird lodged in the front).Have your fan temp switch checked, and make sure your temp gage is accurate.I did all this and mine stayed between 190 and 230 which is still hotter than i like at the top,but stop and go traffic and traffic jams in hot weather are horrible for our cars.OH YEAH,make sure your air dam is in place and not damaged.I just have to keep a close eye on my temp dureing the summer months in the south, especially in traffic.I ope you didnt do any damage when you overheated.goodluck
