block heater?

block heater?
So my car started leaking antifreeze the other day, and I discovered that my IROC had a block heater the kind that you plug into the wall
well it was leaking so I took it out and stuck one of those expandable rubber freeze plugs in the spot. Now heres what im wondering is this going to affect my coolant flow at all cause its alot bigger and fatter than the old block heater

It won't affect coolant flow at all. A freeze plug might be more reliable in the long term than a rubber plug.

thats the answer that I was hoping for anythings better than that block heater does anyone know if thats a factory option? it was secrewed in some how, and all it had to protect from leaking was a o ring

I believe it was a factory option, and aftermarket ones are a popular addition in cold climates.
