Alum radiator from 82 deville?
Hey guys, my friend gave me the aluminum radiator from his long gone cadillac deville. All of the hoses are in the stock location, including the trans cooler lines, and it looks to be just an inch wider than stock. I looked down into it, and noticed it's a single core, but the tube is as wide as my two cores end to end. If that doesn't make sense, here's a crude ASCII drawing:
my radiator
xx(000)xx(000)xx
cadillac radiator:
xx(0000000000)xx
Shouldn't this flow even more coolant than my two core, in theory?
Also, it looks like some a$$hole jammed a handful of sunflower seeds into the drivers side end tank. Hopefully I can flush them all out. Can anyone see any problems with running that triplewidth single core?
Edit: Just to let you guys know, this aluminum rad was only on the cadillac for a couple months. It replaced the old leaking copper rad. When we switched it, the v8 diesel engine couldn't get warm enough to heat the car because of the constantly spinning fan and lack of thermostat. If it can keep a diesel cold, I've got a good feeling about it haha.

Turns out you're right. I was eyeballing the radiator against the unibody rails before. I stuck a tape in there, looks like there's only 31.5" and this cadillac rad is 33" wide. How unfortunate, I need a new radiator soon.
