Re: 4gen Fans On Champion Radiator
You might want to think about venting that shroud a bit....it will create a damming effect at higher speeds where hot air will get trapped. If you suddenly come down from a hood speed and then idle around @ low speed and have the temps creep up, that is an indication of it. Take a look at the factory LT1 shrouds and you'll see what I mean. Plus plastic doesn't retain heat like metal does....even aluminum retains some radiant heat.

I was referring to the shroud itself not being vented. The 4th gen shrouds are vented for the purpose of relieving pressure @ higher speeds no matter the blade design. But, it'll be interesting to see some numbers on it if the weather gets warm enough to gauge it. Keep us posted!

Ah....OK, I was referring to 4th ten LT1 shrouds....they use the same motors and blades. I've never had a chance to use an LS1 4th gen shroud.

This is how an LT1 fan setup looks on a stock type radiator. The relay bank you see is my 3-speed setup-the fans can also be wired in series for 2-speed operation using 3 relays.
