Gen6 DFI and Wideband 02's

Reading up in the Gen6 DFI EMIC manual, one of the options was for a wide band 02 sensor. I've got two of the DIY-WB setups courtesy of a very helpful GN guy, and would love to interface them to the DFI. Is the change just an option in the Calmap program, or are there physical circuit changes on the PCB?

Andris, I am not sure of how the DFI incorporates their WB unit. However, there is a thread on the Gen7 where apparently there is going to be a software update to allow any WB input to be used. How much the Gen6 & Gen7 are related I don't know either. Here is that thread:

Rbob,
Thanks for the response. The Gen6 and 7 are completely different internally, unfortunately. I called the DFI tech folks, and worked my way up the chain until I spoke to the guy that's intimate with the inner workings of the circuits. In his few years there, he's only seen one Gen6 box with the linear 02 option, and doesn't even have parts to repair that if someone ever breaks one. I couldn't get any info on what the circuit changes were, or even if I can feed it a 0-1V linear signal. The linear option also changes the program on the chip, in that it adds a target AFR vs RPM vs MAP table, while the non-linear gen6's only have the 14.7 target ratio for closed loop. Ah well...
