1992 Ecm/memcal??????

I am trying out my new Scantool #CP9145 Super AutoScanner, and the tool does not recognize the ECM. So I get all the info for the ECM/MEMCAL to compare to the tech section, and nothing, nada, no 1992 info. So I says This Ain't Good. So the Question is, what do I have?

What I think I have > 1992 Z28, 305 TPI/AUTO(so say the VIN)
ECM Service # 01227730 AXXB
863061 M120414008
161306X AXXB

MEMCAL # DELCO AXXB 3063
1P0272

Does anybody recognize these Numbers??? I understand that the MEMCAL(AXXB) is the correct number for the ECM.

Just for the record, I am the 3rd owner, so I do not know the history of the car. Also, note that when I opened the cover to the ECM, I found a JET Chip with and adapter which states "Off Road use only", which I have removed

The ECM and BCC are both correct for that vehicle.

ECM Service # 01227730 is the common 1227730 or '730 ECM.

The BCC of AXXB 3063 is a '91-'92 calibration and is for the 5.0 TPI w/Auto.

The JET chip may be the cause of the scan tool not being able to connect with the ECM. You mentioned that you removed the JET chip? And replaced it with the stock MEMCAL?

If so then the scan tool should connect. If you did and the san tool still didn't connect try the scan tool on another vehicle, or another scan tool on your vehicle.

RBob.

Thanks for the back up info. By the By, yes I did install the "orginal MEMCAL" just to make sure the car would run. It was a nice Sunny Day, and I just had to put the top down.

Also, I went back to check the scan tool, and I learned a new skill today. It's called the KISS principle. I need to pay closer attention to what I was plugging into the scantool. Things like "PFI" as opposed to "TBI". It helps a lot to read the fine print.

Thanks again for the help.

Later, ED
