Is it possible to take a chip out of a 92 caprice cop car and put it in a Third Gen? I have a 305 TBI that I converted it to a 350 tbi. I was just wondering if anyone knew.

If the '92 Caprice ran the '8746 ECM, then yes. I do know that the TBI Caprices did run the '8746, however, I don't know the cutoff year as to when they stopped. If you post the BCC in question I may be able to find out which ECM it is intended for.

I was just curious... I Dont have the chip for the Caprice, but I was going to keep my eyes peeled. I dont know anything about the computer stuff but want to learn what can be swapped and what cant. My Firebird had the VATS system in it, but it was taken out and a new computer/ chip was put in. How would I find out what year the comp. or chip was? Thanks.
