Re: HOLLEY HP EFI

The Holley HP/Dominator or the FAST 2.0 XFI are probably the easiest for the new tuner to set up and get running easily. I have done both and they are pretty equal in terms of usability.
It comes down to which tuning software you find is best for your use. They both are downloadable to play with. Download them and and start working with them and see which one you prefer. You can't go wrong with either.

I agree, but also include Accel, BS3 and anything else you can get your hands on.

And don't assume the self tuning stuff is hassle free, it's not. I'm supremeefi.

Re: HOLLEY HP EFI

Nothing is hassle free, but Accel and BS3 while good, for the right tuner, aren't newbie friendly in any way shape or form. Megasquirt is a great system, but the learning curve is unbelievably steep. The OP is looking for a system, that out of the box is eaiser to understand. That is why I tell people to download the software and take it for a test drive.

Re: HOLLEY HP EFI

i like that the hp has a nitrous control capability...i should have thrown that in there.i hear accel is a system to use for expeirienced users, and the fast is good also but does not have the options for what my future plans are. im looking at a 383 with either a shot of nitrous or one of those v-3 si-trim superchargers. i want to learn this tuning stuff, cant afford to take it to guys everytime i change something, way too expensive around here. is there any good tuning forums for beginners? i have no idea where to even start looking lol

Re: HOLLEY HP EFI

Im currently putting a holley hp into my ride. I was either gonna go with fast or holley. I downloaded the firmware for the fast system and holley and of the 2 I found that the holley was just so damn easy to use everything is laid out nicely. I too wanted something I could install get it running and then tinker with myself cause taking it to a tune shop here in BC is just a rip off. And plus its more modern technology, no chips, no steep learning curves!
