esc mod/knock sensor 85 iroc

I have an 85 iroc that had a 5.0 tpi in it. That took a dump so I put all the tpi stuff on a goodwrench 5.7. I researched on here and was told to put a knock sensor and esc mod from a 5.7 in the car. So I did. I noticed when driving it occasioanlly that it felt like it was pulling timing and would lose some power. This happened a few times so For fun I pplugged the 5. esc mod back in while still using the 5.7 knock and it never seems to pull timing and runs fantastic. However I want to be safe. My question goes a bit deeper though. I was told to put a knock sensor and esc from say an 87 iroc...which I did. They are infact different part numbers as everyone says. Well I was also told my ecm is the same as the 85 tpi corvette ecm...for curiosity sake i looked at the part numbers for the 5.7 vette esc and knock and they are the SAME as my 5.0 not the 87 5.7. That being said since my iroc has the same ecm as the vette and the vette is the 5.7 shouldnt i run the knock and esc from the 5.0 since the vette uses it?? That seems to be the only way I can get the car to make power

I suggest you mount the 350 sensor on a 45 degree brass "street" elbow, then to the engine. I would be a lot less comfortable with the wrong sensor installed.

Not too hard to imagine the Vett platform having unique acoustics that are different from your F body.

I think you need a tune.

I guess what I am saying is...for the 85 is the 5.0 REALLY the wrong sensor seeing it is used in 5.7 tpis from the same year? IDK just wasnt sure
