Car: 1982 Trans Am Recaro
Engine: 305 V8 LU5 CFI TBI
Transmission: TH200C
82 Recaro
So I have an 82 Recaro TA and I was reading that swapping out the ECM and Prom with the ones from an 83 should get me the extra 10 horses GM got with better tuning.
So knowing nothing about cars (learning quick) what exactly should I be looking for? And where should I look?
I assume I can get this from either a TA or a Camaro with the LU5 V8?

Jeff - it is not a big performance difference. The thing I noticed when I swapped to the 1983 computer was that the car's tuning felt a little better. It seemed to have better idling manners and driveability.
It could be in my head though as I have no concrete way of verifying this.
You want to search for a computer from either a 1983 Camaro or Firebird with the Crossfire. Someone here even mentioned he had swapped a computer from a 1984 Vette and it ran better, so that might also be something to try. If I find a good deal on an 84 Vette ECM I might experiment with that one too.
