Another new DIY guy

Hello, I believe this is my first post in the DIY PROM board. As some of you may or may not know I'm attempting a new project, a Pontiac Fiero powered by a turbo charged 4.9 PFI cadillac motor. This project screams for the "749" ECM. I'm ready to delve into PROM tuning but my question is...... Even though this isn't F-body will you guys still help me? The 4.9 N/A has already been run with a programmed 730 so I can use that as a base (as well as use Bort62's excellent article on swapping the 730 for the 749 to install the hardware). So are you guys down with offering whatever help you can on tuning this thing? I can tell you right now I can use all the help I can get. Just wanted to ask in advance thats all.

Hey howzit. I think as far as the tuning, everyone here supports the idea of true DIY. If you come up on snags, what does this modify or whatnot, then they will help you out. But I dont think anyone is going to give you all the "answers" or anything. Its more gratifying when you can understand what you're changing and how it affects what. Once you understand that you can tune anything. But as for the other stuff (aka do you think I should use this ECM, or this programmer?) everyone here is very helpfull. Sounds like you have some experience with this already so you're a step ahead of me. Good luck!!

There are alot of places that have alot of info on tuning these things. I dont know all of them but with some searches I think you should find them.

Yeah I'm not looking for answers, because there really are no answers for this stuff, I just need help understanding everything. I just wanted to make sure people weren't going to get pissed when I was asking quesitons about tuning on a different platform than usual.
