Holley's tuning instruction guide for Commander 950 is amazing!

I dunno if this is a re-post, but last week i downloaded and printed out the Commander 950 instruction manual. This is the single greatest source of tuning information that I've seen so far. Obviously it is tailored specificly for the commander 950 system, but all of it can be applied to 1227730 ecm tuning... purty much any speed-density system actually. the 950 system works almost the same as the factory GM ones do, it's just easier to work with and understand IMO, but the sensors are all the same. I've read various books, like the popular "TPI swappers guide", TPIS Insider Hints" and "How to tune and Modify Chevrolet Fuel Injection" (I'm a dork, i know). but out of all these resources, I've found this manual to be the single most comprehensive guide for getting the proper tune for my car.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, (though I guess I am...) but is it possible to use one of the factory ECUs to operate the Holley "Stealth", or Edelbrock "Pro-Flow" hardware?

certainly. Don't think of a fuel injection system as a strict marriage of specific parts. its more of a collection of parts that work together. so, you could use a factory ecm to control just about any fuel injection manifold. Just like you could use an aftermarket ecm to control factory hardware. a search here on this forum will uncover a ton of stuff. guys running converting single plane manifolds, running boosted cars with a factory ecm, etc etc.

sure, the interfaces/connectors might be different, but within the tons of factory parts for all models (not just GM), you can find the right sensors, if you look hard enough.

if you can fabricate, you could build whatever you wanted.

and if you can read assembly code and program it, the world is your oyster. it just takes alot of manpower to program as extensively as GM originally did with a team of engineers.

back on topic, yep, holley's got a decent manual there. good basics, good process for roughing in a calibration.
