Running with a 160°F Tstat Please help

Last summer i got a custom chip for my car.

It's a Camaro Conv. RS 1989 with a 305TPI running with a 7730ECM from 1990, TH700R4 & finaldrive 2:73

Now i have bought my own equipment to make Proms.

Whan i was looking at the code in my chip i found the following (that doesn't seem right to me since i have a 160°F Tstat).

-"Highway mode fuel min. temp." 185°F
-"IAC learn min. temp." 185°F
-"Enrich power AFR enable min. temp." 248°F
-"Stay alive memory enable temp." 197°F
-"spark retard hot disable" 68°F
-"TCC enable min. temp." 122°F

Shouldn't those temperatures be adjusted to fit my Tstat ??

-"TCC Lock high gears vehicle speed" 21mph
-"TCC unlock high gears vehicle speed" 20mph
-"TCC Lock low gears vehicle speed" 21mph
-"TCC unlock low gears vehicle speed" 20mph

Aren't the speed set a bit too low ????
Please help

Prime example of why we tell folks not to bother with a 'Custom' chip.

Yes, the cooolant values should be adjusted. For the TCC minimum MPH for high gear, I like to set the MPH higher. Otherwise it can lug the engine. The 20/21 in low may be OK, but is still low. Because of these low values I would be suspicious of the origin of the calibration you are running.

I'd recommend a higher temperature thermostat, a 180° F at a minimum.

Ok, i'll change the thermostat to a 180ºF.
But i guess i still need do adjust the coolant
values.

Since i have converted my injection from 1989TBI
to a 1990TPI, i wasn't able to get the "VATS" or
the "VSS" to work properly with a standard chip

Should be able to get both to work. The VSS is the same between the '89 TBI and the '90 TPI. Remove the 4-out buffer and run the VSS signal directly into the '730. The '730 has pulse outputs to drive the speedo and the cruise.

The VATs setup should be the same between the two. What kinds of issues are you having with that?

No problem with the VSS or VATS anymore..
Not after getting the "custom prom",
sorry about not being clear on that matter.
