Hello,

I am new to this board. I have been searching for information on stock prom IDs. (broadcast codes?).

I have a stock '91 350 TBI. I am happy with the way it runs, but I put a 5spd. in it and I am still running the auto prom. (1227747 ARJT).

The dealer seems clueless as to how to get a manual prom w/o a VIN. They also seemed to think there was no 91/350/getrag set up, so maybe I need one for 89 or 90.

I just want the proper idle set-up. I'm not sure if this qualifies as "prom begging". I just want a list of codes. (There are many dead links in the forums).

I was reading the rules sticky and it says only to post 3rd gen. questions. Does anyone here know where to go for help with truck ECMs? I have called multiple dealers, and they just brush me off.

If someone could just point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Welcome. I too have a 91 truck (k2500). My broadcast code is arjt for an auto. I found out that a 91 truck manual bin is asdw. I just googled "gm broadcast codes. It was easy to find. Moates file manager has it under the old DIY EFI section of BIN'S. Just right click on the file and select "save as".
This site is a wealth of info. Keep re-reading the stickies, more and more will sink in as you get experienced in tuning GM ECM's. I always check the stickies and then search and then finally ask for help if I cannot find any info.
The founders and contributors to this site like to keep this wealth of knowledge for the do it yourself crowd and not the others who just troll for info and then make a profit off of it. It might take a bit before the gods here warm up to you. I have much respect for the people here that have helped me along the way. I always try to ask questions in a professional manner. And I never vent my anger or frustration on the boards towards other members. These hallowed halls are a place to learn and debate, not argue petty problems or beliefs.
Hopefully you can find all the info you need here and more.....

i too found it hard to figure out which broadcast code (BCC) i was looking for. i could not find a reliable list that i could say ok, this car/auto tranny/305/etc., whats the BCC? I had RBob tell me what BCC i was looking for and it was right, so either there is a good list somehwere or he is magical haha im not sure.

from what ive seen, a question like this, while not for a f-body, still has a good chance of geting answered but may not pull in as much discussion in this board. This board is very nice and seems to draw people from outside the 3rd gen f-body world.

I know of a few partial BCC list on the net. Nothing that details the 1000s of calibrations GM has put out though.

I had access to a series of GM driveability books that had all the latest calibrations for EVERY GM vehicle from 1982-1995 when I worked for GM though. I know they are out there.

Other than that, if I know the Vehicle specifics, I can find out the ECM pretty easily. Once the ECM is known, I can download a XDF and the matching bins and search for what I need.

I have searched for days, before and after posting here and cannot find anything other than randy4762's reply. Except another list, which verifies ASDW is a 91 code. Just doesn't say what for.

GM dealers are no where near as good as keeping parts, as they used to be. May as well be a Fiat or Peugeot.

I guess I will try to hunt down a used ECM with that code and see what happens. Was hoping to be sure to get the right one the first time.
