93 lt1 tuning stuff?
i've done a little searching but didn't really get anywhere.. and oddly enough most of my google searches ended me up back to thirdgen.
a friend of mine is picking up a 93lt1 and wants me to tell him what to buy so i can tune it for him. about all i've found is that tuner pro does work with it and i've found the ads and xfs files. what i'm looking for is hardware. what stuff is out there. like say a promilator like i use for my 7730 ecm. i'm guessing that won't work for the lt1.
i think maybe the autoprom if thats the 300$ one works but not sure.
anyone know of any good sites i can read up on the stuff out there for these cars?
thanks guys.

Datamaster is a good datalogger, and Tunerpro RT or Tunercat will work good for the LT1.
If you use tunerpro, you can find the right def files at moates.net I believe.

It's been a while, but IIRC, there are two different PCM's for the LT1 f-body's. One has a PROM, the other is flash based. Now, you didn't mention whether it was an fbody or not. But the '93 f-body is probably PROM based (1st year for it).
Best bet is to get the PCM Service Number and also to open it up. If PROM based there should be an access cover. Then go from there.

I used my Automprom ...
and some files from Moates.net to check out my buddies 93 LT1. I was even able to read the pre-programmed LT1 chip he got made somewhere....not much difference to compared to stock, and it had one cell in the VE table that had been left zero'd.
