Need Vortec Timing Table for 6E MAF
hello
ive heard quite a bit about fast burn heads and how they need a very special timing curve..i have a set of 062 vortecs and ive been running the stock ARAP timing table with a max spark advance of 31 degrees. i would like to change it to a vortec timing table. I am not looking to make money off of this.. i just want to dial my car in. Can someone please show me their vortec timing table so i can get a base to tune on.
thank you
Lee

Re: Need Vortec Timing Table for 6E MAF
There are a couple of stock truck vortec tables on here somewhere if you search. I know a couple months ago I was in the same situation you are in. The tables on here are missing PE advance so keep that in mind.
I'm not on my laptop so I dont have the table handy, however I can tell you I see people running anywhere from 28-32+ degrees advance total. I know these heads can take a fast ramp in the high load area, and can take a decent amount of cruise timing as well. So far with my car, with a 12.8 AFR, I have gotten 32 degrees total advance with 89 octane gas and made most power based on MPH at the track. My knock sensor does get tickled with this, but I am positive its false knock due to its inconsistancy with load and rpm. The car is seeing downtime currently due to a MAF mishap. Let me know what you find... I'm anxious to hear results from another vortec 6E setup.
