ALDL Cable works on GN but not B4C?
So I am trying to get my 1992 B4C car on the road. The previous owner said at one point, the A/C smoked out the vents and is dead. The speedo is inop. I swapped the VSS and no change, so I decided to order a ALDL cable (straight to USB), scan it, and see if the ECU was getting a speed signal or not.
I am pretty computer savvy, and used to tuning on the LS1 side, so I installed the drivers, and set the software to the proper port.
Nothing would connect. Tried WINALDL, Tunerpro R/, Freescan, etc.
So I have my GN sitting there with a scanmaster...plug it in, and bam! Data logging.
No I am confused.
Everything works on the B4C except the speedo. (and the A/C fan). I am wondering if the ECU might be screwed somehow. Wiring to the back of the plug looks OK. Just for a test I jumpered the resistor in the cable, and the cooling fan came on?
Anyone have any suggestions?

Ok, got the TunerPro RT working once I downloaded the proper definition file for the 7730 ECU. I guess it it quite specific.

Tunerpro RT is the only thing I can get to scan with this ECU though. I know other people have had problems with datalogging them, so maybe this info will help someone out there. Looks like I'll be making a donation to the developer. Very impressed with the package!
