Tuner Pro RT Connection issues

Here's the problem in a nutshell: I cannot get Tuner Pro RT to dataog on my car.

The specifics:

Car: '89 Chevy Caprice with a 5.7L L05 engine
Connector: ALDU1 and CABL1 (Moates)
Computer: Windows XP Pro, with USB ports
ECM: '8746 (ANLU chip)

The drivers included with the ALDU1 were installed. The cable datalogs just fine on WinALDL, but I can't get it to log properly on Tuner Pro RT. I checked the com port: it's port 3. I have the Baud rate set at 160 because my car is old and can't handle the 8192. I have tried all the different sampling rates from 1 Hz to 11 Hz. I have tried all three types of connection (AutoProm, etc.). I checked the definition file and the data stream files, and they are both for the L05 motor, the only def files I could find for it. I have another ECM for this car, so I swapped the ECMs out, thinking that perhaps I had a bad ECM. Same problems still.

What happens is that the ALDL says it connects, but then nothing comes up on the dash display. The values do come up, but they're all bogus (a coolant temperature of -20 degrees, a vehicle speed of 188 MPH when idling, etc.) and these values change randomly.

My question is this: with the ALDU1 package, which settings are you supposed to use? Does it connect as the auto prom or something else?

I don't really need this for datalogging since I have WinALDL that works just fine, but I would like to emulate and burn, and am unwilling to use a product that doesn't work. I need to figure out if it's just settings or if I need to use a different program altogether. This may also affect my decision to go with the AutoProm or a combo of the Ostrich and the Burn2. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
