PROM number AUXK

I just bought a 1227165 ECM for my 3.1L to TPI swap and the prom that it has inside is DELCO AUXK 3779, and I can't find any information on it anywhere....

What is this a prom for, and more importantly....will it work for a 305 MAF TPI?

The information I have says that the PROM is for a 1991 2.5L manual.

Re: PROM number AUXK

Awesome....is there anyway that I can get it loaded with the right data to run my engine or do I need to go prom hunting?

Re: PROM number AUXK

To use the AUXK MEMCAL will need to both re-burn the PROM and set the cylinder count via a jumper.

Are you planning on doing any mods that require tuning? If so there are additional options for the PROM.

Re: PROM number AUXK

Well my build is going to be:

305 V8
906 Vortec heads
1.5 or 1.52 Roller tip rockers
Stock Cam
Vortec TPI intake
Stock TPI Plenum/Runners
Stock Throttle body
Fuelinjectionconnecton.com Wiring Harness
24 ilbs injectors (Yes, I know they're too big, but they're what I got with the engine...)
700R4 Transmission

So yeah, I'm gonna need to do some tuning.

Re: PROM number AUXK

So you can go with a G1 adapter, Burn2, and some flash PROMs (www.moates.net). Then there is no need to deal with the stock PROM, it just sits there, dumb as can be.

Then on the MEMCAL run a wire from PROM pin 14 to MEMCAL pin 56 (note that the MEMCAL and PROM pins are counted differently). That sets the cylinder select in the ECM.

Or, probably better, since the limp mode won't even be close, don't even use the MEMCAL. Just jumper that above pins right on the G1 adapter.

Then grab a copy of a stock '89 LB9 calibration to start tuning with.
